Mission

Friends of Saint-Laurent Boulevard is a program of The Main and Mile End Memories, a not-for-profit organization created in July 2024 by the merger of Mile End Memories and Friends of Saint-Laurent Boulevard.

The Friends were founded in October 2003 at the initiative of the Société de développement du boulevard Saint-Laurent, which sought to reinforce the cultural aspect of its mandate. The mission of the Friends, now carried out by The Main and Mile End Memories, is to support the community in projects of broad consensus that highlight the points of interest of boulevard Saint-Laurent, all the way from the Old Port of Montréal to Jean-Talon Street. This six-kilometre section corresponds to the National Historic District designated by the federal government. To achieve this mission, the Friends of Saint-Laurent Boulevard have the following goals:

  • bring together people with an affinity for the boulevard in order to create a community of common interest to share their passion for this street;
  • help citizens and visitors discover the treasures of the boulevard;
  • promote the Saint-Laurent Boulevard National Historic District; and
  • ensure the preservation of the boulevard’s spirit.
